Out West

Shooting in a remote area of the shrub-steppe at dawn with my trusty 5x7 Canham (featuring a gorgeous 135mm Schneider lens). I loved that camera and used it till film became almost impossible to find. (Photo by Richard Bell)

(Photo + Photogram, 1971)

My first published photograph when I was a 16-year old high school photographer at Lewis & Clark High School, Spokane, WA. I was paid $25 (a princely sum in those days!).

These are photographs and darkroom images I created before and after moving to NYC in 1975. The majority are from my home-state of Washington…. Seattle, Whidbey Island and elsewhere.
